How Brexit is impacting the marketing decisions of business leaders

Last week Marke2ing co-founder, Linsay Duncan, had the fantastic opportunity to be part of the Institute of Directors “IoD99 bites interview series”.

If you haven’t heard about it IoD99 bites, it is a weekly YouTube series which interviews business owners and founders under the age of 40. As well as running through the latest political and business news, the interview captures the SME perspective on what’s been happening in the news.

In this episode, she discussed with Alex Mitchell, Chairman of the IoD99 and Jamie Kerr, Head of Entrepreneurship & Tech Policy at the IoD the impact of the current political turbulence on growing businesses.

They delve further into how the uncertainty surrounding Brexit brings an even greater need – for CEO’s of growing businesses – for flexibility when it comes to marketing investment, planning and commitments. They also go on to explore exactly how Marke2ing delivers this for their clients.

“For example,” says Linsay, “we are developing plans with each client to allow their marketing investments to achieve a greater impact and to mitigate some of the effects of a potential financial hit once the Brexit negotiations are finalised.” This echos the advice we gave last year about the need for B2B businesses to be nimble in the wake of the initial Brexit decision.
